 The notification came at exactly 6:17pm: “Your order has been delivered.” James’s heart leapt. He’d only meant to check his phone for a moment. Already he’d resigned himself to a very ordinary evening, where he’d eat his ordinary little dinner, then later, after hours of web browsing, go to his very ordinary little bed. Rachel Morgan was an odd child. At least that’s what her mother always said . Rather than spend her Sunday night hanging with friends like a normal eighteen year old she was in her room, lying flat on her back in bed, reading comics…that and not doing her homework.
